Timing is everything when children are ill ~ Exergen Temporal Scan Thermometer ($50 value) #giveaway

When a child get sick it is not fun to try to take their temperature the "old fashioned way." So I'm a big fan of temporal artery thermometers.  I personally use an Exergen Scanner for all my family and could not wait to bring you this great giveaway so you also have a chance to own one as well!

  1. They are hard to use at times. It also takes so long to get a reading both orally and rectally. With little ones it is especially hard.

  2. I don't like my thermometer because I have to put it in my kid's ears which they don't like when they are sick.

  3. Regular thermometers take forever....even the "fast" ones and I have found that the faster they are the less accurate that they are. Plus I can never remember the whole +1/-1 thing....or now they are so accurate that you dont need to do that anymore. Oh its confusing. As for the ear one I have, I have to take 3 in a row readings to see what he is actually at because they vary so much .

  4. Agree with Beanybopp above - the worst thing about regular thermometers is how long they take. Unless my little one is really, really sick, he won't sit still long enough for me to hold it in his armpit.

  5. It takes to long to register and then they can be hard to read.

  7. If I will choose between this kind of thermometer and the non-contact ones. I will definitely go for the non-contact ones, because I find them more effective than this. This one will take forever before it gives reading and it's stressing me more, while the non-contact forehead thermometer gives results within just a second and very easy to use.
